MediaCAST Banners

For Unit 19, we're required to do three different banners for the mediacast blog. These are my three different banners & Colour schemes:

Filming

Filming was scheduled for today: 25th April.

The weather wasn't fully on our side as it was cloudy & windy but luckily it didn't rain!

All the talents and crew were there on time and everyone has worked together.

During the filming, some shots had to be changed from the storyboard.

Cancelled

Filming got cancelled because of the rainy weather. When it came to booking the equipment, we didn't really take bad weather in consideration since it was sunny for weeks.

So instead of filming today, we went location scouting. We've planned exactly how the shots are going to be and how the actors are going to act, from where and how.

We didn't waste the day. Let's hope that the next time we're going to film, the weather is on our side!

Audio

Sound is very essential. If the audio is bad quality & the video is pristine, the video is nothing. However if the audio is pristine & the video is bad quality, the video will automatically improve.

Yes it does matter if the quality of the video is good or not but the audio is much more essential because it gives the video a very different feel.

Location of Filming

Since the book is about Strada Stretta/Strait Street, the filming has to be there. Here's the location:

Nb: The filming will not be held in the whole street, just a part of it.

Risk Assessment:

Tripod: May lose stability if not placed well. To avoid this, the assistant camera person will make sure that the tripod is secured in place and stable.

MediaCAST Proposal

For the banner, the MediaCAST logo together with a clapperboard snapping on the side of it, either black or white, would be placed in the middle. Depending on how the banner will look, if it looks crowded, the background will be either one solid colour or a few colours from the colour scheme. The colour scheme would be blacks/greys/whites or blues/blacks, keeping it as simple as possible. The font would be either Times or Arial, something neat and traditional.

Either underneath the banner or on the side of the page, there would be the navigation menu; Home, About Us, Projects, Forums and such.


For the Profile page; keeping the traditional format, photo on the left, basic information (i.e. Age, e-mail, etc.) on the other side, information (such as about, interests, hobbies, goals, inspirations) of the person would be below.

MediaCast started during the scholastic year of 2009/2010 and is made up of lecturers and students those of which study Media at the Institute of Art & Design, Mosta. All in all, MediaCast is considered as a small family.

MediaCast produce the program called: “Int Min Int?” with the lecturers being executive producers. They were also involved with Circom in collaboration with PBS. It consists of several seminars in relation with journalism.
